Why was 8 Weeks to Wellness Created?
Welcome to 8 Weeks to Wellness®, a proactive, lifestyle approach to changing your health for the rest of your life. We are Drs. Dane Donohue and Dr. Justin Nye. We developed this program for patients around the world to provide a structured health program that works. Our primary mission is your health.
Before you embark on this journey, we want to tell you why we developed the 8 Weeks to Wellness® program. Both Dr. Justin and I have been in practice for many years, Dr. Dane since 1991 and Dr. Justin since 2007, treating a wide variety of health issues. Both Dr. Dane and Dr. Justin come from Chiropractic families. However, they saw that lifestyle is what made the biggest difference in their own families’ ability to stay truly well and live a long and productive life. They both witnessed family members who died young or suffered in their later years with chronic problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and dementia. They lost family members WAY too young, inspiring them to create the 8 Weeks to Wellness program.
Our inability to address our patients’ underlying issues has always held us back from truly serving them. For example, we might treat a patient with knee pain who is carrying 50 extra pounds, or we might give a supplement to help someone with heartburn, while both would be better served with a total lifestyle overhaul. In other words, often doctors are so busy addressing patients’ urgent symptoms that little time remains to address the underlying cause of the problems. The law of cause and effect is often an afterthought concerning our health (or lack thereof ).
