what is DIMENTIA AND NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASE?
Neurodegenerative diseases affect millions of people worldwide. Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, and Parkinson’s disease are the most common neurodegenerative diseases. In the United States, as many as 6.2 million people may have Alzheimer’s disease, according to a report from the Alzheimer's Disease Association in 2022. Currently, over a million people are living with Parkinson’s disease, according to the Parkinson’s Foundation. In the first national study of cognitive impairment prevalence, a study of more than 20 years, Columbia University researchers have found almost 10% of U.S. adults ages 65 and older have dementia, while another 22% have mild cognitive impairment.
Neurodegenerative diseases occur when nerve cells in the brain or peripheral nervous system lose function over time and ultimately die.
.
PROBLEM
Degenerative nerve diseases affect many of your body's activities, such as balance, movement, talking, breathing, and heart function. Many of these diseases are genetic. Sometimes the cause is a medical condition such as alcoholism, a tumor, or a stroke. Other causes may include alcohol, sugar, toxins, chemicals, and viruses. Sometimes the cause is unknown.
FIX
Due to the irreversible nature of the degeneration of the nervous tissue, the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders is aimed at slowing down the progression of degeneration and improving patients’ quality of life. Natural treatment can slow the neurodegenerative process. Nutrition, especially ketogenic as well as exercise and cognitive therapies show the most promise for these patients.

OUTCOME
Neurodegenerative diseases are difficult to treat and affect not only the patient suffering from the disease but also their extended family. We know that by giving the body the things that are required to help the brain heal, it has the greatest potential to do so. We have seen patients who have done 8 Weeks to Wellness report better cognitive function, better balance, and an overall improvement in mood and happiness.
